I have not seen anyone use one yet, I'm not sure why no one used one at the Delta Fly in Race(didn't need it to win?) but Sanger built a bunch of TX's which are I/O's with a 21 foot length that have a hull very much like a DXII just a bit bigger and of course the I/O...It was an AWSA approved waterski and barefoot boat, I ski my buddies 86 every once in a while. It was the first TX built and it runs about 65 as its now propped and sounds like a guided missile at 65, I footed last saturday behind it at 59 mph barefoot...not very far though! ...maybe its just too fast?

Reply with quote | #2 | Interesting boat. When was it offered for sale by Sanger? Never seen it before, but I've only been footing for about 10 years.
Too fast? I don't think so, it's in the range of our SkiPro. We put in some 58/59mph runs this weekend. However, the other factor in addition to speed is the table in choppy water. If you've footed a SkiPro you know what I mean.

Reply with quote | #3 | to go 59 it is trimmed up and the wake at 75 feet is a blur but looks like it would not be a good place to be, slower its a different story but at 59 I don't think I could stand in the propwash, I hung out in the curl. they made them from 86 thru the mid 90's I think I've seen a 96, but maybe only 93 not sure. It was Merc outdrive but has a faster than stock motor.(my friends 86) there are used ones out here in cali for 5000 to 7500. |
