Reply with quote | #17 | Mark, those were pretty good...I would like a cnc machined polished throttle breast grip with tiny nipple...yeah thats it...I want one. I've got the Sanger Guy...which is the theme of my current boat.
don't pee in your wetsuit. rule #1
I think a pirate themed barefoot suit...Jolly Roger...skull and cross bones would be cool...all black with white logos. However there is no way I'm forkin out 309 for it...I'll buy it on closeout |

Reply with quote | #18 | You're going to find fewer and fewer closeouts from Eagle each year. We're able to produce suits faster now, so we're not building as much stock ahead of time. Closeouts = lost profits = going out of business. You complain about a suit costing $309?? In my first two years owning Eagle, we lost over $200K. If it was making a ton of money, Joel never would have sold it. On top of that, we've purchased over $175 worth of new equipment. We have more invested in every barefooter in the world than you'll ever invest yourself for a single suit. So quit being cheapscates! If we build a suit you like, pay the price and know you're doing your part to keep an American small business afloat. It's very important we all invest in US made products.
Here's how I look at the cost of a suit:
If I pay $310 and it lasts me 3 seasons, then I only paid $100 per year. We have customers at Eagle that have had their suits for 10 years.
If you pay $200 of a cheaply made suit, then have to buy a new one each season, then after 3 years, you've paid $600.
It pays in the long run to buy quality.

OK - My product suggestion is I am sure a multi million dollar idea that I am giving to all of you. It is called the boom jack. It supports the boom off the side of the boat, it jacks it up to get all the freestylin moves done and is made out of Bullit aluminum with some cool style which will be much better then the ghetto rig I see in the BFC boat in the tnt video. Reply with quote | #20 | Blake Heller has one on his tower boom. He used an actuator from a farm implement dealer and fabbed it to his boom. With a flick of the toggle switch, he can raise and lower is boom from the driver's seat. It's high enough that the boat can be loaded on the trailer without taking the boom off. I think that he told me that it was under $300.
He got the idea from Lane Bowers. __________________ Team FF |

Andre & I are insulted!! Ghetto Rig?? There's no ghetto in that. That's 100% Home Depot redneck construction. To be ghetto, we would have had to spray paint it chrome. Reply with quote | #22 | OK OK you nailed me...I am a cheapskate...ever since I got suckered into the bionic suit from Neptune I have had an aversion to spending 300 bucks on a suit...my last suit was an Eagle 2nd I picked up for 199...it had a fold down the butt that no one ever notices...and to be honest the new Eagle suits are built very well and look better than ever so I just might have to break out of my cheapskate ways and might even have to custom design my own Renegade...I have already been on there and designed a few cool suits...I just might have to DO IT! although I think I'm going to get the stroker small block for my Sanger first.
As for the boom jack- Jerry Kanawyer uses a piece of trex 2x6 with a couple 3 inch holes cut in it to get the boom sky high...I think its like 6 dollars woth of trex, it braces to the floor, works perfectly. |
